About Klarify
Backed by Y Combinator, with $1.7M in funding, Klarify helps more than 11,000 therapists every day with their notes and their practice.
Therapists train for years to help people, then spend their evenings writing notes, marketing their practice and chasing insurance. Klarify does that work for them, so they can spend their time on clients. Therapists write to tell us it gave them time back with their families.
Moody (CEO) started Klarify after therapy changed his life, and after his own therapist asked to use the note-taker he was building.
The product and vision
Today, therapists use Klarify to:
Turn a session into a draft clinical note
Ask Klara, our AI assistant, questions about their sessions, or have it draft a letter or treatment plan
See a visual map of the themes across a client's sessions
Get found by new clients through profiles and blog posts built for Google and ChatGPT
Notes were the start. We're building one place that runs the whole business side of a therapy practice: notes, marketing, billing, insurance and admin. We want to automate everything a therapist does except the therapy itself.
The role
You'd join Moody (CEO), Bergie (CTO) and Zach (founding engineer) as our first product leader. You'll own product strategy and work directly with the CEO on where the product goes next. Therapists have full caseloads and little time to learn new software, so the best version of every feature is the simplest one.
Own product strategy and the roadmap. Decide where we focus, in what order and what we say no to.
Design the platform as it grows. Plan how notes, Klara, marketing, billing and insurance fit together, and how we package and price them.
Set how product works here: how we decide what to build, write specs, test before we ship and measure what worked.
Work with the CTO on what gets built when. You make the trade-offs between new features and fixing what we have.
Set the product targets for adoption, retention and revenue per customer, and report on them.
Stay close to customers. Talk to therapists every week, own support and turn what you hear into fixes.
Build privacy into every product decision, working with the CTO, who owns security and compliance (SOC 2, HIPAA, PIPEDA, PHIPA and Quebec's Law 25).
Help the CEO tell the product story to investors as we head toward our Series A.
Do the hands-on work while we're small: specs, flows designed with AI tools, small pull requests with Claude Code and whatever else the company needs.
Your first project: set the next six months of the roadmap, starting with getting more therapists to use what we've already built.
The CEO owns the company's direction and approves what we build next and why. The rest of product is yours.
What we're looking for
7+ years of product management experience, including at least 2 leading product at a startup or as part of a founding team
You've set a product strategy and owned the results, good and bad
You've designed how a growing product fits together, including packaging and pricing
You've worked side by side with a CEO and an engineering lead to decide what to build
You're AI native. You use AI tools every day and have brought them into how your team builds product.
You have an eye for UX and can make complicated things feel simple
You still like doing the work yourself: specs, flows and small pull requests
You're authorized to work in the US or Canada. We can't sponsor a visa right now.
Strongly preferred: you're in San Francisco and can work hybrid
Nice to have: you've worked in healthcare, mental health or another regulated industry
What you get
Lead product at a modern, fast-growing Y Combinator company, working directly with the founder
$175K to $225K USD in the US, or $160K to $210K CAD in Canada, plus 0.5% to 2% equity. You choose the mix of salary and equity.
