Senior Electrical Engineer
Milpitas, CA · Full-time
$146K–$210K
Why join Commonwealth Fusion Systems?
This could be huge if fusion stops being a lab project and becomes grid power, and Commonwealth Fusion Systems, a Cambridge, Massachusetts fusion energy company, is building the machine meant to prove it. A win here means utilities and heavy industry could buy clean, round-the-clock power from far smaller machines. A $1.0B round from Temasek and Khosla Ventures, with 123 open roles, 56 added in 30 days, shows the build is accelerating.

Join the power movement as a Senior Electrical Engineer
We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to serve as the lead electrical hardware authority for our next-generation R&D and processing equipment. In this role, you will own the end-to-end electrical design of complex machinery—focusing heavily on 480VAC power distribution, electrical safety, signal integrity, sensor instrumentation, and control panel architecture.
You will bridge the gap between high-power electrical infrastructure and machine-level controls. While your primary mastery lies in electrical design, schematic capture, component selection, and shop-floor commissioning, your working knowledge of PLCs, fieldbuses, and industrial automation will allow you to seamlessly bring first-of-a-kind hardware to life alongside our software and mechanical teams.
