Work with the Industry Leader
At Eon, our mission is to make patients healthier and healthcare affordable. Eon Patient Management, or EPM as we like to call it, identifies patients with disease risk and streamlines clinical decision analysis so clinicians can work at the top of their licenses. With unique solutions across multiple disease states, we drive unprecedented adherence to care pathways so that more patients are seen and more survive. When patients win, healthcare systems win—both clinically and financially.
As a market leader in incidental tracking and patient management, Eon is pioneering the use of Artificial Intelligence to enable healthcare enterprises—from small health systems to large, national-scale IDNs. We have a unique and dynamic team that is focused on results and offers employment opportunities both locally in our Glendale office and remotely.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for a talented Data Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll design and maintain the data infrastructure that powers our health platforms, products, and research. You’ll work with large-scale healthcare data—including clinical records, claims data, and real-time patient monitoring streams—to build systems that are secure, compliant, and built for scale.
This is a hands-on role that will directly support our mission of delivering better healthcare through data.
As a Data Engineer you will:
- Design, build, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and standardizing healthcare data from diverse sources (EHRs, wearable devices, claims, etc.).
- Ensure data quality, privacy, and compliance with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).
- Work cross-functionally with product managers, data scientists, clinical experts, and software engineers to deliver data solutions that support analytics and decision-making.
- Develop and optimize cloud-based data infrastructure and warehouses (e.g., AWS RDS, Snowflake).
- Maintain secure, scalable, and well-documented data models for internal and external use.
- Monitor pipeline performance, troubleshoot issues, and continuously improve data reliability and availability.
- Stay up to date with data engineering best practices and evolving healthcare data standards (e.g., FHIR, HL7).
You will be a good fit if you:
- Experience with real-time data processing tools (e.g., SQL, Python, Airflow).
- Background in supporting data needs for clinical research or healthcare analytics.
- Familiarity with BI tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Power BI.
- Exposure to MLOps or data science workflows.
Qualifications and Skills:
- 2–4 years of experience in a Data Engineering role, preferably in a healthcare, biotech, or life sciences environment.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with large-scale relational databases.
- Proficiency in Python (or similar language) for data engineering tasks.
- Experience with cloud platforms (preferably GCP, AWS, or Azure) and data tools like Airflow, dbt, or similar.
- Knowledge of data modeling, data warehouse design, and data integration patterns.
- Understanding of healthcare data formats and standards (e.g., ICD-10, CPT, FHIR, HL7) is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with data privacy, security protocols, and compliance frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, SOC 2).
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
“So what’s in it for me,” you ask?
We pride ourselves on being a culture-based company buzzing with high energy. Aside from the enthusiastic environment, you’ll enjoy:
