Why join Impulse Space?

Satellites keep getting cheaper so the bottleneck is now moving them between orbits, and Impulse Space, a Redondo Beach aerospace company, is building the vehicles to do it. If its vehicles become the standard way to reposition payloads, customers could book orbital transfers the way they book freight. A $308M Series D from Founders Fund and Lux Capital, with 216 open roles, most in engineering, says the build-out is under way.

JustBacked's take, based on Impulse Space's own site and its funding and hiring data.

  • Maintain traceability through clear action item tracking, meeting records, and analysis/test/inspection data in shared company repositories
  • Occasionally travel to support hardware integration events, test campaigns, or launch operations (less than 20% travel)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
  • 5+ years of professional experience in systems engineering, mission integration, or complex technical project execution

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Master’s degree in an engineering discipline
  • Active security clearance or willingness to obtain
  • Experience working directly as a technical point of contact with external partners or customers in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with civil space or national security processes and systems
