SWISSto12 SA - Switzerland, Switzerland · Permanent

Series C · $70M · 83d ago Posted 8d ago
SWISSto12 is one of the world’s fastest-growing aerospace companies, evolving from its pioneering use of 3D printing technologies for high-performance Radio Frequency (RF) products and applications to recently announcing the manufacture of entire geostationary telecom satellites, called HummingSat, that define a new category in space.

HummingSat is the world’s first commercial telecom GEO SmallSat developed in collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA). Its uniquely compact size combined with highly capable telecom payloads allows telecommunications operators to deploy a cost-efficient, compact, and agile asset without sacrificing performance or security. HummingSat has been selected by Intelsat to build the I-45 satellite, by Inmarsat to build three I-8 satellites, and recently by Astrum Mobile to build the NEASTAR-1 satellite.

SWISSto12 is also a leading provider of Radio-Frequency (RF) products and sub-systems for satellite communication and remote sensing applications. The company’s patented 3D printing technologies and associated product designs are unique to deliver lightweight, compact, highly performing, and competitive RF products.
  • Take ownership of flight software requirements, specifications, interface definitions, and testing for HummingSat, working closely with system, avionics, payload, AOCS, FDIR, AIT, and ground operations teams.
  • Lead or contribute to verification activities, from unit and regression testing with spacecraft simulator, flatsat, and spacecraft AIT test campaigns.
  • Support integration of flight software with mission operations tools and test benches, helping teams identify, reproduce, and close issues efficiently.
  • Contribute to launch, LEOP, and in-orbit preparation by supporting operational procedures, anomaly response, and flight software readiness reviews.
  • Apply software development practices, including configuration management, traceability, quality assurance, and space-grade verification discipline.
  • 7+ years experience of specifying, developing, integrating, or verifying embedded, real-time, safety-critical, or mission-critical software systems.
  • Comfortable translating system and mission needs in to clear software requirements, interfaces, test objectives, and verification evidence.
  • Hands-on experience with spacecraft testing in simulation environments, flatsat, or AIT campaigns.
  • Familiarity with satellite systems, ECSS-inspired processes, spacecraft operations, telemetry/telecommand, FDIR, or flight software architectures.
  • Good understanding of configuration management, Git-based workflows, issue tracking, CI/CD, release preparation, and software delivery discipline.
  • Strong programming skills in C/C++ or Python, scripting, and test automation experience would be valuable.

Other qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Structured, pragmatic, and collaborative, with the motivation to work across disciplines in a fast-moving development environment.
  • Able to balance engineering rigor with delivery ownership, helping the team progress design maturity, interface closure, verification evidence, and program schedule needs.
