About Genki Robotics
Genki Robotics was founded by a team of pioneers in humanoid robotics committed to practical applications of physical AI. With decades of collective expertise, we are developing advanced robotic systems that combine intelligence, dexterity, and resilience to address critical challenges in public safety, urban maintenance, and other mission-driven environments. Our vision is to accelerate the integration of intelligent humanoids into society, augmenting human capability and shaping the future of work and service.
We’re backed by a16z, AMD, DCM, Incubate Fund, and X&KSK.
About the Role
You will own the infrastructure our engineers build and ship on, from the Linux distribution running on the robot to the cloud our services run in.
This spans further than most infrastructure roles. Embedded Linux builds, cloud infrastructure, CI, and the delivery path to robots in the field all sit with you.
What You'll Do
Own our custom embedded Linux distribution: Yocto and Poky builds, layers, kernel configuration, and board support.
Own the update path to robots in the field, including versioning, staged rollout, rollback, and recovery from a failed update.
Own cloud infrastructure as code, including Terraform, provisioning, networking, and cost.
Own our Kubernetes clusters and the services running on them.
Own CI and build systems across our stack, including GitHub Actions and cross-compilation for embedded targets.
Keep builds fast and reproducible, so engineers are not waiting on infrastructure or debugging environment differences.
Own observability end to end: build the telemetry pipeline that gets logs, metrics, and traces off robots and into something queryable, including buffering, sampling, and bandwidth limits.
Own security and access fundamentals: secrets management, credentials, and the boundary between development and production.
What We're Looking For
Deep Linux systems knowledge, from kernel and userspace through networking and storage.
Embedded Linux experience with Yocto, Buildroot, or equivalent, including custom board support and image delivery.
Strong software engineering. You write production code, not just configuration and glue. Python, Go, or equivalent, plus comfort in C and C++ build systems.
Strong infrastructure as code practice, particularly Terraform.
Production Kubernetes experience, including operating it rather than just deploying to it.
CI/CD design for heterogeneous builds spanning cloud services, embedded targets, and multiple languages.
Track record owning infrastructure end to end in a small team, where there was nobody else to escalate to.
Bonus Points
OTA update systems for embedded devices, including A/B partitioning and atomic updates.
Experience with robotics or embedded fleets in the field.
Hardware-in-the-loop CI, running tests against real devices.
Experience with Dart or Flutter build tooling.
Security practice in a regulated or customer-facing deployment.
